Comparison

Opelo vs Brevity

Brevity meters on participants and lets you add as many staff as you like. Opelo caps both and charges a flat plan fee. Which is better for you comes down to the ratio between the two.

The short answer

Which one should you pick?

Choose Brevity if you run a large workforce against a modest participant list, if you are a plan manager, or if you need CHSP and DEX reporting for aged care work beside your NDIS supports. Unlimited staff on a per-client price is a real advantage in those cases.

Choose Opelo if your participant numbers are growing faster than your headcount, if you want payroll and learning management in the same system, or if you would rather a predictable plan fee than a bill that moves every time a participant comes on or off service.

Every Brevity figure below is from its published pricing page as at 23 September 2026 and excludes GST, as Brevity states. Check current pricing directly before you decide.

Pricing

What does each one cost as your participant list grows?

Brevity's meter runs on participants. Opelo's does not run at all within a plan.

Brevity figures are its published list prices at brevity.com.au/pricing as at 23 September 2026, excluding GST as stated on that page. Costs above are calculated from the per-client rate. Setup fees apply on Brevity Business and Enterprise. Opelo plan prices are being finalised and will appear on the pricing page.

Brevity's model is the mirror image of the per-user platforms. Where ShiftCare gets expensive as you hire, Brevity gets expensive as you take on participants. A support coordination practice carrying 150 participants with six coordinators pays a great deal on a per-client meter and very little on a per-user one.

So the question is simply which number is growing faster in your business. If it is headcount, a per-client platform like Brevity protects you. If it is participants, it works against you, and a flat plan is the safer shape.

Being straight with you

Where Brevity is the better call.

We sell Opelo, so weigh this page accordingly. These are the cases where we would send you to Brevity.

Lots of staff, fewer participants. Unlimited staff logins on a per-client price is genuinely good value for a provider running a big casual pool against a stable participant list.

You are a plan manager. Brevity publishes a plan management rate at $3.99 per client per month. That is a specific product for a specific job and it is priced for it.

You do aged care as well. CHSP and DEX reporting are published Brevity capabilities. If that is part of your operation, a platform that already handles it beats one that does not.

You want every integration on the entry plan. Brevity includes Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks from Lite upward. Opelo holds accounting integrations for its upper plans.

FAQ

Opelo and Brevity, common questions.

Does Opelo or Brevity cost less for an NDIS provider?

It depends on your participant count rather than your staff count. Brevity charges per client per month and does not limit staff logins, so a provider with many workers and few participants does well on it. At published list prices as at September 2026, Brevity Lite is $4.49 per client per month excluding GST, so fifty participants is about $224.50 a month before GST. Opelo charges a flat rate per plan covering set numbers of both participants and staff. The more participants you carry, the more a per-client meter costs you.

Does Brevity limit how many staff can use it?

No. Brevity states that its per-client price gives full access for all your staff and management. That is a genuine advantage for providers running a large casual workforce against a small participant list, and it is the main situation where we would point a provider to Brevity rather than Opelo.

Do Brevity prices include GST?

No. Brevity states that the prices shown on its pricing page exclude GST. Its Business and Enterprise tiers also note that a setup fee applies. Factor both in when you compare monthly figures, because a headline per-client rate can look lower than it lands.

When is Brevity the better choice?

When your staff count is high relative to your participant count, when you need plan management as well as provider operations, or when you want CHSP and DEX reporting for aged care work alongside the NDIS. Brevity covers those areas and publishes a per-client plan management rate, which suits plan managers specifically.

Run both numbers on your real figures.

Give us your participant count and your staff count and we will work out which model costs you less, including when that answer is Brevity.
